Breakfast Tacos or Breakfast Burritos?
Hi everyone!
Since i got in trouble for not writing emails last week I will make this one extra good so my evil mom doesn't get mad at me again.
This week my companion and I have been arguing about whether it's a breakfast burrito or breakfast taco. The correct answer is breakfast taco and if you think otherwise let me know and I'll take you off my email list. Just kidding I won't do that…maybe.
We also decided to move all of our beds into the living room this week. It is so much more fun that way. During lunch and dinner we have apartment get in bed time where we lay in bed and talk about random stuff. And sometimes build forts and other dumb things. It feels kinda like a middle school sleep over but it's fun LOL.
This week was probably the hardest of my mission so far. 95% of people we talked to were not interested and not very nice about it either. My companion and I were walking down the street and saw a guy in his truck, we waved at him and he motioned for us to come over and talk to him. We walked over and he started to cuss us out like I've never been cussed out before.
We also had a lot of doors slammed in our face this week and lots of lessons canceled. But each time we had lots of opposition it seemed the Lord always sent some small thing to encourage us. Like the next door we knocked after getting cussed out was a super nice family. They had a little kid who was super excited to show me his Spiderman and Transformer toys. We became best friends when he realized that I knew how to transform all of his transformers from robot to car mode. They weren't really interested in the gospel but they were so nice and invited us over for dinner one day.
Another day we had knocked on a couple of doors and had gotten a few of them slammed in our face. But when we were walking alway Sadi, a girl we have been teaching and has a date for her Baptism came riding by on her bike. It was cool to see the small things the Lord showed us to keep us encouraged even when we weren't seeing success in terms of finding new people to teach.
Transfers are this week and we are getting another elder, so we will be a trio now! I'm excited…now it won't be as annoying trying to find a 3rd male all the time! Elder Anderson and I will still be together which is awesome. I have learned so much from him this transfer. He is such a good missionary, friend and trainer. And I'm excited to learn more from him and also Elder Peterson during this next transfer!
And don't worry the only reason me and Elder Andersons beds are on opposite sides of the room is because Elder Thompson and Elder Morton wanted to be in the middle so me and Elder Anderson are on the ends. The argument about breakfast taco and breakfast burritos didn't make us hate each other LOL.
Love y’all
Elder Lowry
