I got bit by a dog…again!
Hi everyone!
This week was pretty good. My companion is sick right now so we have been in the apartment the past few days which sucks but I've been surviving.
Now, I will tell you the story of how I lost my hand in a battle against a wolf.
So basically we were driving down the road and I had this really strong impression that we should knock this one house. Well, I knew that this house has a massive warning on it from previous missionaries about how there is a super scary dog there and so don't knock on the door because the dog will attack you.
I wasn't going to let some silly warning in area book keep me from following a prompting from the spirit. We walked into the yard and no dog came out. We even started talking to the guy that lives there and he was super nice. He even wanted us to come back again and teach him more; but before we left, this massive dog came tearing around the corner with the scariest bark ever. It barked at us for a while and then it got all friendly and was licking me and letting me pet him. But then when I was taking my hand out of my pocket to give the guy a pamphlet about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ the dog went SNAP and bit my hand.
Don't worry we only had to amputate up to the elbow so I have half an arm left…I figure that’s better than nothing. And the hacksaw we used to amputate was only a little rusty; nothing a tetanus shot couldn’t handle. The guy was super down to learn more and so I don't regret it one bit. Never ignore a spiritual prompting wahoo!
Elder Morton left and I'm really sad because we were roommates for our first 6 months and we became super good friends. Now it's just me and Sister Simmons from the original three who started our mission in Pasco together
Love y’all!
Have a great week!
