22 more fast Sundays
Hi everyone!
It has been an awesome week! I think time on a mission is like the quantum realm or something. I can't tell if I have been here only a couple days or a couple years haha.
My trainers name is Elder Anderson. He is awesome! We are in the biggest area in the mission. It's mostly trailer parks and lots of farm land. We spend most of our time in the trailer parks because the farms are all so spread out it takes like 30 minutes minutes to get to one person. We are reaching a couple people right now and a few are super close to being baptized, which is awesome! The ward is really awesome. It's a small ward, there were probably like 60-70 people there on Sunday, but everyone is super close.
Our apartment is about 25 minutes from our area so it's a bit of a drive everyday, but it's really nice. We live with one other companionship. The bed isn't long enough for me haha. I have to curl up to fit….BUT there is a squatty potty in the bathroom. Super fancy. I'm also trying to get my companion to let me buy glow sticks and use them to back the car up, but so far he has said no. There's lot of random stuff in the apartment I like to play with. Like a dinosaur mask and an cardboard infinity gauntlet. There a lot of missionaries that live in our apartment complex so everyone messes with each other. It's really funny. We had an epic pillow fight one night after someone hid our pillows in the microwave and freezer. Sometimes I feel like a 5 year old.
On Saturday we found a new guy and it was a total miracle! We had been trying to talk to people all day and no one was interested or home, we got yelled at and had some doors slammed in our face too. We decided to knock on two more doors and be done. At the second to last door we knocked but immediately we looked at each other and both said we shouldn't be here. As we left this guy came out across the street. We started talking to him and now he wants to hear our message. He is super awesome and totally prepared!! If we had been at the other house we would have missed him.
Alma 8 is a chapter that has helped me not be discouraged by the up and downs of missionary work. It is about Alma’s experience teaching those who were ready listen to him and then those who mocked him for his message.
I ate half a tub of ice cream without realizing it as I wrote this so I'm doing SO amazing. I love Walmart ice cream. Also a mission rule is that we can only follow people from our mission on Facebook. So i have to unfollow anyone on Facebook who isn't in the mission. I can still be friends, but not follow. I don't really get what that means because I don't know how Facebook works. I think it's just that your posts won't show up in my feed anymore. If you have you any cool pictures you post on Facebook email them to me!
Oh and the sunsets here are awesome. My mission has been so amazing so far!!
Hope everyone is doing good!
